Welcome to Reusely!
Hi, I’m David, and I’m so glad you’re here. Let me tell you a little story—our story—and how this whole thing called Reusely came to be. Spoiler alert: it involves a lot of rubbish, a lot of heart, and a big idea that might just change lives.
It all started on a pretty average day. I was doing the glamorous task of taking stuff to the recycling center. You know, the usual—bin bags, garden clippings, and whatever else you find lurking in the back of a shed. But as I was unloading, I couldn’t help but notice these piles of perfectly good things: sofas, beds, bikes, furniture, even a washing machine or two. All just sitting there, waiting to be thrown away.
Now, I don’t know about you, but that got to me. All I could think was, “This stuff could help someone. Why is it going to waste?” But, of course, once it’s in the skip, you’re not allowed to touch it. Rules are rules, right? Still, it stayed with me, this little spark of an idea that maybe, just maybe, we could do something about it.
Fast forward a bit, and life threw me a curveball. I lost my job. Now, losing your job is never fun, but I’ll admit, there was a silver lining. I got to spend more time with my partner and our four little ones—tiny humans who seem to have endless energy and an impressive ability to make the house messy in record time. But as much as I loved that time together, the money worries started creeping in.
One day, I turned to my partner and said, “What if we could actually do something about all that stuff people are throwing away? What if we could pick up items they no longer need—for free—so they don’t have to worry about disposing of them? And then, what if we could pass those things on to people who really need them?”
Her response? “You’re mad, but I like it.”
And just like that, Reusely was born.
Here’s the deal: Reusely is about people helping people. We pick up items that would otherwise end up in the landfill, giving them a second chance at life. Some things go directly to people in need, while others are sold at super affordable prices to cover costs like fuel, repairs, and yes, a bit of money to keep a roof over our heads. The heart of it, though, is helping as many people as we possibly can while also reducing waste.

I’ve got to be honest—it’s not always glamorous. There are days when I’m up to my elbows in cleaning a sofa or fixing a bike, but there’s something so satisfying about knowing it’s going to make someone’s life a little easier. And trust me, we’ve had our fair share of laughs along the way. Like the time I tried to squeeze a three-seater sofa into a van that definitely wasn’t built for it. Let’s just say I came home with a bruised elbow, a dented pride, and a sofa that almost didn’t make it.

We’re not a charity, and we’re not pretending to be. We’re just regular people on a mission to make a difference. It’s about showing that with a little effort, we can stop so much waste, help families get what they need, and create a ripple effect of good in the world.
Every time I see an item we’ve rescued find a new home whether it’s a bed for a child, a bike for someone who needs it to get to work, or a chair for someone’s living room—it reminds me why we started this journey. It’s not just about saving stuff from the landfill; it’s about helping people, spreading kindness, and proving that small actions can lead to big changes.

So, welcome to Reusely. Whether you’re here to find something you need, pass on an item, or simply see what we’re up to, you’re part of something special. Together, we’re not just rescuing things—we’re rescuing hope, community, and the idea that a little bit of care can go a long way.

Thanks for being here. It means the world to us—and to all the people we’re able to help along the way.
From everyone at Reusely.
